Make sure you take care of these home maintenance items before winter hits.
Winter will be here before you know it, so to prepare your home for this upcoming season, here are four maintenance items I recommend tackling:
1. Check the electrical system. Now’s a great time to call an electrician and have them come check your home and make sure all its wires are connected correctly. When things heat up and cool down, electrical items tend to move and shift, and you don’t want a fire on your hands.
2. Trim your trees. If you have time in the next few weeks, trim any branches that are encroaching onto your home’s roofline or the property fence line.
3. Sweep the chimney. If you use your chimney during the winter, have a professional give it a quick cleaning.
4. Change your HVAC or A/C filters. This will save you money in the long run and possibly help alleviate any allergies your family might have. Here in San Antonio, there’s a lot of cedar fever going around.
